Looking for a quirky independent comedic film? I think I’ve got what you’re looking for.
In a hilarious comedic sketch, Fort Tilden follows the story of two spacey Brooklyn twenty-somethings, in their adventure of trying to get to the beach. Fort Tilden is a seaside park on the coast of New York, through the borough of Queens. Allie (Clare McNulty) aimlessly tries to prepare for the Peace Corps, while trust fund baby, Harper (Bridey Elliott), seamlessly waits around for checks from her distant dad. When they meet two guys, they decide to ditch their everyday roles and head out on an adventure. Knowing where the beach is, is one thing…but knowing how to get there is another story. Fort Tilden premieres August 14.
It doesn’t get any simpler than this…Digging for Fire shows Tim (Jake Johnson) and Lee (Rosemarie Dewitt) as an adventure-seeking couple with a young child. When Tim finds a bone and a gun near their backyard, it sends the couple on separate journeys through the weekend. You see the rekindling of a bromance with Tim and his buddies; Lee is trying to figure out if she’s looking for love and commitment in the right place. Several well-known actors are featured in this film, including Orlando Bloom, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson and Sam Elliott. Digging for Fire hits theaters August 21.
