Need a post Independence Day TV-watching binge? Summer T.V. watching can be a bore…your favorite shows are always on repeat or there’s just nothing on! There are shows that are solely produced in the off-season so networks can retain viewership. USA and Lifetime are receiving positive reviews for their shows, Mr. Robot and UnREAL.
Mr. Robot, starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater, follows a socially awkward computer programmer, Elliott Alderson, who develops relationships with people by hacking them. I’m not a tech-savvy person, so the jargon and the concept of the show takes me a little longer to understand, but the show is exciting! From the first episode, I was hooked on the inner-workings of Elliot’s mind; he works like a computer, always analyzing a situation or he shuts down when a problem is too much to handle. Mr. Robot airs Wednesdays on USA at 10/9c. Good news — the show got picked up for Season 2, before it even premiered! Gives you another reason to watch right?!
UnREAL is a new series on Lifetime. If you’re sick and tired of the Bachelorette, the Bachelor or any of the other “true love” shows, then get hooked on this alternative. UnREAL is about a production team that takes you behind the scenes of a reality dating show. It’s hilarious, dramatic and makes you wonder how and why dating shows are so successful. Catch UnREAL Mondays at 10/9c. *Update July 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. MST – UnREAL was also renewed for Season 2 after just five episodes!
